London Fly Meetings
General Information
The LFMs are biannual gatherings of Drosophila groups in the London area and beyond held at the Francis Crick Institute or the Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology at University College London in February and October.
The meetings comprise seven presentations (20min talk and 5min Q/A). This is followed by an informal mixer, during which reagents and ideas are freely exchanged. It is a great forum for students and postdocs to present and discuss their latest data in a relaxed atmosphere.
Though held in London, the LFM is happy to welcome fly researchers from anywhere in the UK who are interested in presenting their work. Just sign up to the LFM mailing list and contact the meeting organisers, Isabel Palacios and Nic Tapon.
When?
The dates for the 2026 meetings will be:
1. Tuesday, February 10th, at the Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (UCL)
2. Friday, October 23rd, at the Francis Crick Institute
Talks start at 13:00 (7×25’ slots)
Mixer starts at 16:30
Where?
Meetings at the Crick are held in the ground floor seminar rooms, or occasionally in the auditorium (sign up for email alerts with room details). Meetings at UCL are held in the LMCB seminar room. Attendees will be asked to register for free on Eventbrite to aid building access and catering.
