General Information

This year’s lecture will be delivered by Carola Vinuesa. Her talk, “Genetic Discoveries Illuminating Justice”, includes an account of leading the scientific investigation into the likely genetic causes of the unexplained deaths of four children from the same family. This work led to the exoneration of Kathleen Folbigg, and highlighted issues with the way scientific evidence is presented and communicated in court. Through this advocacy work, Carola Vinuesa has made unique contributions that go beyond simply communicating genetics to a lay audience, and has the potential to effect changes in the way the courts handle expert witness evidence.

Doors to the theatre will open at 6.45pm and the talk will begin at 7.00pm.
