General Information

About the Alliance for Complex Traits Genetics

The Alliance was originally initiated to bring together the large number of quantitative geneticists who work in Edinburgh but are very widely scattered across the university, hospitals and associated institutes.

Originally the Alliance was supported by the Wellcome Trust ISSF through the University of Edinburgh.

Since July 2014 the Alliance has been supported as a Special Interest Group of the Genetics Society. This support will allow us to organise two meetings per year run along the same lines as previously – in particular the meeting will remain free to attend and all are welcome to register and attend.

The next meeting of the Edinburgh Alliance for Complex Trait Genetics will take place on September 6th 2022 at the Royal Society of Edinburgh and will be a special all-day meeting marking the contributions of the late Professor W.G. Hill FRS, FRSE as well as hearing cutting-edge research presentations.  Confirmed speakers as at 18/5/22: Brian Charlesworth, Peter Visscher, Naomi Wray, Kenneth Baillie, Adam Eyre-Walker.  As usual the meeting is made possible by generous sponsorship from the Genetics Society.
