General Information

The C. elegans special interest group aims to bring together UK researchers working with Caenorhabditis elegans and other related nematodes where there is a shared interest in sharing methods and resources. We organise the annual UK Worm Meeting, which provides an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers to present their work.

With support from the Genetics Society, we are delighted to host the 2026 meeting in Southampton.

This year the meeting will run from lunch on Wednesday 15rd April until lunchtime on Friday 17th April, to allow for more time for interaction between attendees. There will be a mix of keynote talks, short talks selected from abstract submissions, a poster session with drinks reception, followed by a buffet dinner (with prizes for best posters from postgrads).

The Wednesday afternoon will be devoted to talks that illustrate the translation of basic worm research to real-world problems and career paths- the intention is that this should be particularly of interest to ECRs.
