JBS Haldane Lecture
Recognising an individual for outstanding ability to communicate topical subjects in genetics research, widely interpreted, to an interested lay audience, the JBS Haldane Lecture winner will have a flair for conveying the relevance and excitement of recent advances in genetics in an informative and engaging way. The annual open lecture will be delivered on a topic and in a place agreed with the Genetics Society. Nominees need not be members of The Society but should normally be active researchers working in the UK. In addition to delivering the Lecture, the recipient will receive an honorarium of ÂŁ1000 and a three-year membership of the Society. They will also be invited to write an article for Heredity.
Nominations may be made by any member of The Society and should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation explaining how the candidate meets the criteria above, and a two-page CV. These documents shall be submitted electronically to the Honorary Secretary of The Society before a deadline, usually in the summer.
