26 January 2026 – Call for nominations

We are pleased to share that over the last couple of years the Genetics Society has been collaborating with the British Science Festival. As part of this partnership, the Society nominates three candidates for the role of Biological Section President at the British Science Festival, which will take place in September 2026 in Southampton.

The Biological Section President will give a presentation at the Festival, offering a fantastic platform to showcase genetics research and public engagement to a broad audience. We would now like to invite suggestions from the membership for potential nominees. We particularly welcome names of individuals who have made significant contributions to genetics or related fields, and who also have a track record in science communication/science advocacy. The Society committee will then select three nominations. From these, the British Science Festival will select the 2026 Biological Section President.
