Genetics Society Schools Art Competition
It’s the 70th anniversary of the DNA helix! In that time, incredible genetic discoveries have been made, but what other amazing advances await us?
To help the Genetics Society celebrate the 70th anniversary of the publication of the DNA helix structure we invite you to submit artwork based on the theme “DNA: Past, Present and Future”. The best artwork will be featured on the cover of the official journal of the Genetics Society, Heredity, win a £100 voucher and £500 for science equipment for their school.
Who can participate:
Students from primary and secondary schools based in the UK.
How can you participate:
Submit an image of your artwork with the theme DNA: Past, Present and Future. It can be a drawing, collage, sculpture, or other creative composition. Please send a high-resolution (300 dpi) image of your submission, with the artist’s name, age, materials used and school’s name to email@example.com with the subject line: ‘GenSoc Art Competition’. Each student can submit up to three pieces of artwork.
The deadline for submission was 30th April 2023
The winning student will get a £100 voucher and their school will get £500 towards science equipment. The winning artwork will also feature in the society journal Heredity (https://www.nature.com/hdy/).
All artworks will be judged by the Genetics Society committee.
Terms and Conditions:
If you submit your artwork you agree on your artwork being published on Heredity and any other promotional materials by the Genetics Society. Please make sure you use an email that is actively monitored for your submission as this is the only way we will have to contact the winner(s).
