General Information

Description of your event.

This can be copied from your own website but do not leave this section blank (maximum 200 words) Dr Forster will address the question of when and where the current coronavirus arose, developed into new variants, and spread.

Whilst this is a free event, there is a suggested donation of £15 which will go directly to Tom’s Trust to help children with brain tumours and their families.

In this lecture, Dr Peter Forster will summarise his work on human origins before using the same methodology to address the question of when and where the current coronavirus arose, developed into new variants, and spread. The lecture will last 40 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A at the end.

Dr Forster is a former Fellow of Murray Edwards College and of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research (Archaeogenetics) at the University of Cambridge, a member of the German National Academy of Sciences and formed the first western research group to publish in early 2020 on the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. He has featured in several television documentaries on human evolution on the BBC, PBS and other channels.

Please note the lecture starts at 6:30pm, so we recommend you arrive early.

Tea, coffee, and cake will be provided after the lecture.

Parking is available onsite.
