Please contact the Genetics Society by email should you require additional information.

The Genetics Society is keen to support members and those willing to continue to contribute to the field of Genetics once retired. If you would like to continue your contribution and links with the Society, please contact the Genetics Society team for further information regarding your membership options.

The Genetics Society meetings programme includes an annual spring meeting over three days on a topical area of interest(s), a prestigious one-day symposium each November and other one-day meetings on topics of special interest. Financial support may be available to members who want to organise one-off meetings. While anyone can attend a Genetics Society meeting, the registration fee is at a reduced rate for Genetics Society members.

For members only, the Genetics Society newsletter presents news and opinion on current issues of concern to geneticists and society at large. It also gives details of Genetics Society meetings and how to register plus a diary of externally organised courses and symposia on genetics.

Members of the Society have free online access to the Society Journal, Heredity via the secure login on our website (see Publications).

In addition to receiving a discounted membership registration fee, students can apply for generous travel grants for attendance at Genetics Society meetings and additional discounts on journals.

Genetics Society members receive 50% discount on the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) membership.

Further information on membership grades is available on the Royal Society of Biology website, but to apply and ensure that you receive the discount, please email Mark Leach, stating that you are a member of the Genetics Society.
